NEWS RELEASE · 28th November 2011
Office of Premier
Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement after the 99th Grey Cup game:
"On behalf of all British Columbians, I want to congratulate the BC Lions for an incredible season and bringing the Grey Cup home to Vancouver.
"The season started with some adversity but you became an example for all of us of what happens when you believe in yourself and work together as a team. The mix of veterans and rookies delivered for football fans. And on a special note, it was great to see former Vancouver Island Raider Andrew Harris take home the top Canadian award today.
"Winning the game at home, the first time it's been done since 1994, adds to the excitement. To David Braley, Wally Buono and the entire BC Lions organization, a job well done and thanks for such a special season of memories."

very enjoyable, well played and no riots.
Both teams played to their potential and made it very entertianing.
Pending the Winnepeg Blue bombers line-up for next year i think they will be there again, i would like to see Doug Brown play one more year. Tough competitor, well spoken individual and a tireless worker.
This season proves that we don't need the NFL here in Canada, we play our game and deliver a great game of professional football.
Well done BC Lions.
