REPORTING · 14th December 2011
Merv Ritchie
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and he is called Mr. Kinsmen.

An informal gathering of three dressed up trucks and trailers will be meeting at the Liquor Store parking lot at 6:30 pm on Friday evening for a drive through downtown ending at the Library and George Little Park.

Now a Parade requires permitting and all types of preparation so this is definitely not a Parade.

One could call it a dressed up Christmas Drive and Carolling Extravaganza! Or simply yes dear Virginia, come see what happens Friday evening, no telling who decides to take a drive downtown.

The Thornhill and Terrace Volunteer Fire departments have been known to drive all through their communities sporting lights and music in the past and this may be no different.

Small cigarette lighter inverters are cheap and available at many stores, which are capable of running lots of the new energy efficient lights. Dressing up any car or truck could be very cheap and quick to do.

Let your imagination run wild.

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire inside’s delightful..." Apparently hot chocolate may be waiting at the end of the colourful carolling episode.

Photos are all from previous displays at Christmas for 2007 forward. Thanks to Ken Fraser for the Thornhill Firetruck and the dressed up Boat.
Nice Job

This effort and time demonstrates community in the best way. Well done by all involved including the reporter:]
Terrace is such a great place to live, we are so lucky.
