A concerned Terrace observer
Before the Terrace Chamber of Commerce starts criticizing our City Council for fulfilling election promises they should, themselves, get their own house in order. From declining membership, a lackluster trade show and a nonexistent presence online it is obvious this organization is struggling to remain relevant in Terrace.

Is the Chamber really speaking as the ďvoice of businessĒ in Terrace or is this the opinion of its executive? What mechanism did the Chamber use to poll its membership before writing a letter to Enbridge? I suspect it didnít bother; just as the Chamber didnít bother to voice any opinion regarding the City Councilís vote in the two weeks prior to the actual vote. I didnít see any statement issued before the vote, no one from the Chamber made a presentation to council and looking at the council minutes there does not even appear to be any correspondence to the city regarding the Chamberís opinion on the issue.
Members may wish to seriously consider the value of being a member of the Chamber and decide if this organization really speaks for them.
1100 chamber members working against us.

A wise man (aka Jesus) once said...

"I know what you have done; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! But because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth!" (Revelations 3:15-16)

You see...if one is hot - good thing for everyone to work on a united front together for the better of all involved. If one is cold...there is always a chance for "conversion". But if one is lukewarm? That's THE MOST dangerous place to choose to be in.

He continued on..."You say, 'I am rich and well off. I have all I need." (In other words...I can stay lukewarm if I want. No skin off MY teeth.) Jesus added..."But you do not know how miserable and pitiful you are!"

The Chamber of Commerce need to grow a backbone here. Is it "Yes...or No? For or against"? It already looks to me like the businesses in town are already "spitting" the Commerce outta their mouths due to their lukewarm stance, by not renewing ongoing memberships with the Commerce. Interesting.

It is well known that China (via Enbridge) 'facilitates' their agendas by bribing politicians at all levels of government.

The Chinese also are very aware that 'Chambers of Commerce' and assorted 'think tanks' influence government to the detriment of society at large.

All of these 'entities' are, after all, just people, and are easily targeted and 'compromised' with what China considers business as usual.

If banks and bankers were held to a higher degree of transparency, it would not be difficult to determine the 'resting places' of the China/Enbridge lucre.

You hit the nail on the head. Can't wait for a response from the Chamber. Especially the highly paid ED.
TDCC Should throw a "Shame" Feast.
