On March 6, 2012, Holly Jeanne Hill received a conditional discharge and 18 months probation on a charge of public mischief, Section 140(1) of the Criminal Code.
On August 30, 2008, HILL told Terrace RCMP that she was flagged down by two unknown men in the Copper Flats area. HILL stopped her ATV and moments later was pulled off the ATV by one of the men who preceded to take off on the ATV. The other man then forced HILL into the ditch area and physically assaulted and tried to sexually assault her. HILL then got away and ran back to her residence.
This report led to the community of Terrace and surrounding area being put on high alert. An extensive investigation involving the Terrace RCMP, Terrace Police Dog Service, Terrace Water Rescue, media release involving composite sketches, and the RCMP E Division Major Crime Behavioral Science Group were utilized.
On November 8, 2008 Terrace RCMP told HILL that the complaint she had made was now being investigated as a public mischief. HILL admitted to the police that she had crashed the ATV she was riding and fabricated the whole story.ORIGINAL STORY, SEPTEMBER 2008 HERESTORY FROM DECEMBER 2008 HERE
