You are invited to Terrace’s 2nd annual Diversity Health Fair, which will take place on Saturday April 14th from 11 am to 4 pm at the Terrace Sportsplex. This year’s theme is Cancer Prevention and Early detection. We are expecting nearly 30 exhibitors from Northern Health screening, to cancer prevention information, massages, jumping castle for the kids, exercise demos and more. We are pleased to offer more in a bigger venue.
The Diversity Health Fair which is brought to you free of charge is primarily designed to connect immigrants and newcomers with health services in Terrace but the event is open to everyone. We will have interpreters of Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, French, Czech, Dutch, Punjabi and possibly other languages to help visitors. Plan to spend couple hours at the Fair so you can take it all in.
The event will open on Friday, April 13th at 7 pm at the Sportsplex with presentations by the Canadian Cancer Society and Inspire Health which just opened in Terrace. The evening will also include musical presentations by Paul Marko, Ewald Arndt and Maggie Ottenbreit (13 yrs. old) who will perform a song called Beaten. Maggie wrote the music and lyrics herself to honour her Grandmother in New Brunswick who battled with cancer for a number of years.
