On the evening of April 27, 2012 members of the Prince Rupert RCMP General Investigation Section arrested a 22 year old male for trafficking in a controlled substance.
Cpl Chamberlain, who overseas drug enforcement in the city noted, “that this individual was selling drugs in the city and has a history of doing so.”
Upon his arrest, police located a quantity of marihuana packaged for street sales and a cell phone which was used to carry out the illicit business.
Charges of trafficking in a controlled substance are being recommended and the male was released to appear in Prince Rupert Provincial Court in August 2012.
The Prince Rupert RCMP remains committed to providing safe homes and safe communities, and the prosecution of those that traffic illicit drugs.
