REPORTING · 8th May 2012
It was a miserable day as Terrace and other Northwest BC residents gathered to voice their opposition to the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline project.

Monday, May 7, 2012, was the start of the NEB JRP Oral hearings in Terrace and the protest march was organized by the Friends of Wild Salmon on the same day.
Various speakers, including MLA Robin Austin Austin, addressed the crowd of 200 residents attempting to take cover from the rain under the shelter at George Little Park.
Signs were being painted on site and as the speakers finished the rain let up. The protesters then walked on the sidewalks (obeying all traffic laws more stringently than normal behaviour) up Emerson Street to Lakelse Avenue. They then continued west to the Terrace City Hall and then back to George Little Park on Lazelle Avenue.
Cars and trucks honked in approval and various employees of the businesses they walked passed came out side to voice support and deliver signs of approval.
