Terrace RCMP
The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 132 calls during Friday May 18, 8 AM, to Tuesday, May 22, 8 AM. 16 of these calls were for false alarms/911 calls. During the same time period, 23 prisoners were lodged in cells. 20 of these were for public intoxication.

Here are some of the calls police responded to.

A man and woman passed out on the 4500 block of Greig Ave. Police arrested a 70 yr old man and a 49 yr old woman for public intoxication.

Police requested assistance from BC Ambulance due to the manís level of intoxication. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment. A few hours later the man was causing problems for staff so police attended to the hospital and arrested him for public intoxication.

A 22 yr old woman on a YZF450 dirt bike was checked on Kalum Forest Service Road during a road block. The dirt bike she was driving was impounded and she was served a driving prohibition.

A man in a shed on a property on Mountainview Ave contrary to his conditions of not to be there. Police arrested the 26 yr old man for breach. Samuel Ratchford has been charged with breach of recognizance. He is held for court.

Dog barking non stop on Churchhill Dr. Police attended and observed a large, mixed breed, unfriendly dog barking incessantly. Ongoing problem in the neighborhood. Thornhill Animal Shelter has been contacted to deal with the matter. 14 yr old girl breaching a court ordered curfew. Ongoing problem. Advice was given to the parent on the matter.

Intoxicated man at a residence on Eby St that did not belong to him. Neighbors in the area took control of the man to prevent him from leaving. Police arrested the 21 yr old intoxicated man for mischief.

A grey 2007 Ford Fusion was checked on Hwy 16 at Kalum Lake Rd. The 21 yr old driver was issued a driving suspension for being impaired by drug and the vehicle he was driving was towed. An amount of marijuana was taken from his person.

An intoxicated person attempting to break into a residence on Olson Ave. Police located a 17 yr old girl in the driverís seat of a vehicle that did not belong to her that was parked in the driveway. She was arrested for mischief. She was violent with police officers and struck them twice in the face at the detachment cells. She did not cause injury.

An intoxicated man and woman in the middleof Walsh Ave. Police arrested a 21 yr old man and a 18 yr old woman for public intoxication. The woman began to throw up and pass out while being booked into cells. Police requested BC Ambulance. They transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

Three men walking into Canadian Tire smelling of alcohol. Police located the men, ages 19, 20, and 20 yrs of age in a white 2008 Dodge Ram pickup in the parking lot. They had open beers in the truck. The driver was sober but had a restriction on his driverís licence to not have more than one non family member. Various violation tickets were issued.

Black display case full containing approximately 30 rings made of silver wire with crystals on them went missing from the Farmerís Market from a vendor.

A black 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier had its driverís side windows smashed out and numerous dents while parked at the Sandman Inn.

Break and enter to a residence on Sande Ave. A 24 inch flat screen plasma TV and red portable CD player were stolen.

A discman and about 20 cds in a grey case were stolen from a green 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix parked at the Safeway.

A man stealing property from a residence on Mountainview Ave. He attended the residence twice and entered the enclosed porch and took off with various items. While police were speaking with the victim, the thief approached the residence again. The victim identified him as the thief, and police arrested the 40 yr old man for break and enter and theft. Prescription drugs were located on his person that did not belong to him. Various stolen items were recovered from his residence.

While arresting him, another man approached police. Police attended to his residence which was in the area and observed a stolen generator inside of the residence. It was seized from the 36 yr old man. Charges of trespass by night, possession of stolen property, and breach are being forwarded to Crown Counsel on the 40 yr old man.

Domestic dispute in a cab. A man and woman were observed to be intoxicated, in a disheveled way, but not injured. Both were not cooperative with police. Police arrested the 25 yr old man for pubic intoxication.

A Howe video camera, a Canon camera, a multi tool with an oak handle, personal cheques, tool box and contents, and reading glasses were stolen from an unlocked grey 2008 Dodge Dakota pickup parked on Muller Ave.

Break and enter to a residence on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. Two backpacks and a Playstation original were stolen.

A blue Helly Hanson jacket, a black Olympus camera in a black and silver neoprene case, a brown wallet with a crest like pilot wings, Bushnell binoculars in a waterproof black vinyl pouch, tire guage, Petzel head lamp, Olfa knife, various ID and cards were stolen from an unlocked red 2012 Honda CRV parked on Molitor St.
